Security and Administration


The Security and Administration Division focuses on the physical and cyber security of the enterprise. This includes: business continuity, disaster and recovery planning, crisis management, corporate services, special investigations and facilities and real estate management.

Cyber Security/Information Security Governance (ISG) - Establishes and maintains a security strategy which adequately protects the corporation and supports business objectives. Ensures consistency with applicable laws and regulations and detects and responds to threats.

Special Investigations Unit (SIU) - Protects the assets of the company against both internal and external risks associated with fraud in the health insurance industry utilizing investigations, analytics and intelligence. This group also conducts internal investigations of violations of the Corporate Code of Business Conduct.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery - Develops, demonstrates, and sustains the capabilities of restoring the Horizon BCBSNJ environment required to support business, IT, and provide the required support and services to employees, subscribers, partners and customers. Combines incident management, business continuity, and disaster recovery in order to protect our personnel and resources.

Corporate Services - Oversees the processing of all transactional print both internally and externally while serving as SMEs during all phases of project implementations to ensure new print outputs meet company, print vendor and governing agency requirements. Also provides mail services for the enterprise.

Corporate Security - Provides protection to all Horizon BCBSNJ personnel via standard security procedures including physical access controls, CCTV surveillance and contracted security guard personnel. Provides safety programs and training along with emergency incident planning, preparation and response.

Facilities and Real Estate Management - Provides strategic and tactical space allocation planning and facility maintenance. Plans, develops and leads new construction and renovation projects.
