The Information Technology (IT) division is comprised of the following departments:

The Business Solutions Group includes a team of Divisional Information Leaders and their staffs who ensure:

  • Technology investments address key business needs across Horizon BCBSNJ's business and corporate units
  • IT engages with and creates value and client satisfaction, and communicates effectively throughout the Company
  • Improvements in the way business requirements are defined to support IT initiatives

IT Architecture enables the Company to plan for:

  • Business transformation through technology and standardization
  • Developing and driving the technology capabilities roadmap around the key domains of:
    • Company Architecture
    • Data Architecture and Governance
    • Digital Solutions
    • Business Process Management
    • Capacity Management

Business Management is responsible for IT:

  • Business Development
  • Strategic Initiatives (including partnerships with other Blue Plans)
  • Financial Management
  • Vendor Management
  • Metrics and Reporting
  • Governance (including Compliance, Audit, Risk and Training)

Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for end to end project delivery by:

  • Guiding the methodology and delivery of projects throughout the Company
  • Ensuring that programs and projects throughout the Company are delivered on time, on budget and within scope
  • Ensuring that the Company’s project portfolio is in line with Horizon BCBSNJ's strategic goals

System Development is responsible for:

  • Developing new applications, enhancing existing applications, break fix activities, and level 3 support for over 200 applications in our environment
  • Software Quality Assurance

IT Infrastructure and Operations supports:

  • Systems/Data Center
  • Networks and IT Security
  • Messaging
  • Desktop Engineering
  • IT Service Desk
  • Production Support
